About This Page

This is a blog dedicated to amplifying voices and promoting self-educating by providing resources, sharing campus-wide events, and discussing topics that matter to us.

My name is Noelia Vargas, and I am Bucknell Panhellenic’s new VP of Education, Advocacy, and Activism. I am a sophomore currently majoring in Markets, Innovation and Design, and I intend to also major in Spanish with a minor in Studio Art/ Graphic Design! My hometown is Alexandria, Virginia, right outside of Washington, D.C., where I am very fortunate to be a part of a diverse environment. I grew up in predominantly white communities when I was younger, and for a long time I struggled with embracing and loving my culture. Being the daughter of two first generation Americans, I felt outcast and uncomfortable with my vastly different home life and traditions in comparison to my friends. With time, I have learned to love and be proud of my Hispanic background, embracing the beautiful cultures of Puerto Rico, Spain, and Ecuador. I am so passionate and excited about this position and hope to excite others about cultivating and appreciating a diverse and inclusive environment here on campus.

The VP of Education, Advocacy, and Activism is a new role on the Panhellenic Executive Board that focuses on making connections with campus partners with intentions for a shared understanding of Panhellenic council’s mission around education, activism, and advocacy, providing opportunities for the Panhellenic community to connect with the larger educational community around education, activism and advocacy, and working as an ally for other clubs and organizations supporting their larger outreach events as a Panhellenic community. I am aiming to provide resources and knowledge on important topics, ranging from current events to issues in Greek life, and more.
